Upcoming Virtual Event at Clay Art Center
Clay Art Center has an interesting virtual event schedule for this week:
Virtual Panel Discussion
The Role of Art in the Fight for Social Justice
Wednesday, October 7, 7 p.m., via ZOOM
Join moderator CAC artist Earlene Cox and guest ceramic artists paul Briggs, Vinnie Bagwell and Wesley Brown in an important discussion on how art can raise awareness in the fight for racial equality and social justice for African Americans.
Recent events in America have sharply highlighted the ongoing struggle for Social Justice and Racial Equality for African Americans in the face of police brutality and systemic racism. This panel will discuss art as a tool for communication, raising awareness and affecting positive change around these social issues and examine how the ceramics community can address these issues within their own institutions.
This event is a live webinar moderated by artist and Clay Art Center Board Member Earlene Cox, and features a panel of guest artists including Paul Briggs, Vinnie Bagwell and Wesley Brown.
